Specialist Support for Growing Bodies at Neurodiverse Playhouse
Is your child walking with their toes turned in or staying up on their tiptoes long after it’s typical? Many families notice these patterns and wonder what’s next—and we’re here to guide you through it.
At Neurodiverse Playhouse, our Intoeing and Toe Walking Clinic is designed specifically for neurodivergent children. Whether your child has been diagnosed with autism, ADHD, developmental delay—or is simply showing signs of altered walking patterns—our team is here to help with expertise, compassion, and a neuroaffirming approach.
Many neurodivergent children move in unique and wonderful ways—and sometimes that includes walking on their toes or with feet that turn inwards. While these patterns can be part of natural development, when they stick around longer than expected, they can start to affect a child’s balance, coordination, and comfort.
For neurodivergent children, toe walking or intoeing is often linked to things like retained primitive reflexes, differences in muscle tone, or sensory processing needs. These underlying factors deserve gentle, informed support—not correction or pressure.
Without support, these movement patterns can lead to tired legs, joint discomfort, or difficulties with gross motor skillsas a child grows. But with the right team and a playful, neuroaffirming approach, we can support your child to move more freely, comfortably, and confidently in their body.
Our clinic is led by a Paediatric Podiatrist and Exercise Physiologists who work together to take a holistic, child-led approach. We don’t just look at feet—we look at the whole child.
We assess:
✅ Gait and foot structure
✅ Muscle strength and tone
✅ Core stability and posture
✅ Sensory-motor integration
✅ Primitive reflexes
✅ Functional movement through play
We then design an individualised program combining play-based therapy, reflex integration and hands-on podiatry care, all delivered in a neuroaffirming, welcoming environment.
For many children, especially those who are neurodivergent, retained primitive reflexes like the Moro, ATNR or STNR can affect movement patterns, coordination and balance. These reflexes are meant to fade away in early infancy—but when they linger, they can drive toe walking, clumsiness, and emotional regulation challenges.
Our Exercise Physiologists incorporate reflex integration strategies into fun, body-based activities that your child will actually enjoy—no drills or pressure here.
Our clinic is ideal for children aged 3–12 who:
At Neurodiverse Playhouse, we're redefining therapy for neurodivergent kids. Our clinic is calm, child-led, and full of play. We use swings, crash mats, scooter boards and obstacle courses—because real results happen when your child feels safe, engaged and understood.
