When movement makes sense, the whole world opens up
Is your child always on the move, avoiding shoes, or tripping over their own feet?
It might be more than "just how they are."
Let’s explore what their body is trying to say.
At Neurodiverse Playhouse, we take a whole-child approach to paediatric podiatry. That means we don’t just look at howyour child walks—we explore why they move that way, what their body might be seeking, and how we can support their sensory world from the ground up.
If your child is:
…it may not be “just a phase.”
It might be connected to retained primitive reflexes, sensory differences, or how their feet are communicating with the rest of their body.
Primitive reflexes are natural movement patterns babies are born with. They help early development—but when they stay active longer than expected, they can interfere with balance, posture, emotional regulation, and sensory processing.
And guess what?
Many of these reflexes show up in the feet first!
We combine reflex-aware podiatry with deep respect for neurodivergent identity. No bribes. No pressure to conform. Just safe, supportive, evidence-based care.
This isn’t about correcting your child.
It’s about helping their body feel safe so their whole self can shine.
When we support the feet and the nervous system together, we often see:
✔ Better balance and coordination
✔ Reduced tripping and fatigue
✔ More confidence in playgrounds and social play
✔ Fewer sensory shutdowns related to clothing or footwear
✔ Improved regulation throughout the day
Your child doesn’t need to be “fixed.”
But they may need support that finally makes sense—for them, and for you.
This is where healing, understanding and confidence begin.
